Red Idea has been
making beats since before he could work a beat machine.
Born in Greenfield Mass in July of '87, he
was drawn to Yo!
MTV Raps at a young age, and things haven't been the same
since.
By the turn of the century, Red was fed up with the sounds on
the radio and TV, longing for something different.
After discovering that one of his high school classmates had
a mini-studio in his room, Red dove head-first into production.
Joining forces with that classmate (who just so happened to
be Asa Ruven), Red became one-half of one of the most potent production
teams around. After he was introduced to a local rapper named
Name Brand in 2006, Red helped form the team that would come to be
known as Mass Production.
After finally getting his own equipment, Red Idea helped
construct the all-instrumental collaborative album If A Beat
Drops In The Woods... along with Asa Ruven in 2007, as
well as countless other beats for the Mass Pro crew. At this
point he is completely addicted to making beats, constantly crafting
soulful jams that keep your head rockin...
